Crawlspace Medic is a crawl space and basement specialist, not a full-service foundation contractor: we do not install push piers or helical piers, and we do not perform slab leveling. If your inspection turns up foundation movement beyond the crawl space framing, we tell you upfront and refer you to a specialist who handles that kind of structural work.

Conditions in Greenville
Red clay sheds water, and the suburbs were built before anyone planned for it.
Upstate ground is hard, dense red clay, not the sand you find at the beach. Water sinks into beach sand easily. It does not permeate red clay, so you get a lot of runoff, and that runoff ends up in crawl spaces and basements.
The housing splits two ways. Downtown, homes are sixty, eighty, or a hundred years old, built before anyone really knew what modern waterproofing was, often over old cellar basements. Then there are the neighborhoods from the 70s, 80s and 90s expansion out into Simpsonville, Easley, Greer and Taylors, and those crawl spaces are notorious for water intrusion because builders of that era were not protecting against it.
